Dudes

I counted 17 women at church today who sat by themselves. Very disheartening. About half or more were married and their husbands just won't come.

I saw a board on the wall at church today showing the history of the ward's youth. One plaque had all the names of the Eagle Scout award recipients and the other of the Young Womanhood Recognition recipients. Since 1980 this ward had 81 Young Womanhood Recognition recipients and 57 Eagle Scout awards.

When I served as executive secretary of my BYU ward the bishop used to tell me that the sisters in the ward paid twice as much in fast offerings as the returned missionary brothers.

Elder Perry gave a talk on my mission where he said one of the great worries in the church is that there are far fewer temple worthy young single adult men in the church than women.

I have always believed that finding great girls in the church is easy. I am coming to learn that the reverse isn't necessarily true.

How great it is to find an honest, decent, kind and worthy man. I am trying to be that man.

:)
